Your logbook
Is my logbook mine?
Yes. You can read, search and download everything you've logged at any time, subscribed or not: a PDF logbook, a CSV, a ForeFlight-format CSV, or a .zip with your documents and scans.
If you stop paying, nothing is hidden or deleted.
Who can see my logbook?
Only you. If you make a share link, anyone with it can read your flights, totals and currency until it ends or you turn it off. A share link never shows your documents, scans, Pilot IDs, passengers or crew.
Can I bring my old logbook?
Yes: from another logbook app's export or any CSV, or from SkyView Pro. You see a preview, possible duplicates and anything unclear before it's saved, and you can undo an import.
Coming from paper? Add your totals so far as one entry, and log from there.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, in Settings → Account. It deletes your logbook, documents and scans for good, so download a copy first. If you have a subscription, cancel it first.

Price
What happens after 50 hours?
The flight that takes you past 50 hours is saved. To add the next one, subscribe: $29.99 a year or $4.99 a month.
Without a subscription you can still view, search, edit and download everything.
Does simulator time count toward the 50 hours?
No. Sessions in a simulator or training device (FFS, FTD, AATD or BATD) are logged as usual, and left out of the 50 free hours.
Can I get a refund?
On the web, a full refund within 7 days of any charge, then none. Email support@skyviewlogbook.com. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
I train at a school that uses SkyView Pro. Do I pay?
No: your logbook is free while you're enrolled, and it stays yours after you leave. After you leave, the normal 50 free hours apply.
Logging
Is an electronic logbook acceptable to the FAA?
Yes. 14 CFR 61.51 says what you must log, not that it has to be on paper, and pilots flying under Part 61 don't need the FAA to approve their logbook.
Instructor signatures here follow the FAA's guidance for electronic signatures, AC 120-78B. If you fly for an operator or train at a Part 141 school, check what they require.
Does it work without a signal?
Yes. Log a flight with no connection and it's saved on your device, marked Waiting to sync, and goes up by itself when you're back online. Open the app once with a connection on that device first.
Does it track my currency?
Day and night passenger currency, instrument currency (with the six-month grace) and your flight review, worked out from your flights, plus your progress toward private, instrument, commercial and ATP requirements.
It's a tracking aid only: you are responsible for meeting the regulations.
Can it fill in my 8710-1?
It shows Section III, Record of Pilot Time, laid out like the form and worked out from your logbook, and downloads it as a PDF. You enter the numbers in IACRA yourself: check them against your logbook before you sign.
Is there a phone app?
SkyView Logbook runs in your phone's browser, and on a tablet or computer, with the same logbook everywhere.
Add it to your home screen to open it like an app.
Apps for iPhone and Android are coming soon.
Instructors
How do instructor signatures work?
Your instructor signs from their own SkyView Logbook account, which is free for instructors: by scanning a QR code on your phone, from an emailed link, or on your device with their own sign-in. They see exactly what they're signing.
Once signed, the flight is locked. To fix it, void the signature and correct the entry; both stay in the flight's history.
Can my instructor sign endorsements?
Yes. They choose from the sample endorsements in AC 61-65K, Appendix A, fill them in and sign. Time-limited ones, like a solo endorsement, show the date they're good through.
